Owning a gun is a fundamental right under the U.S. Constitution.To help protect that right, LegalShield offers the Gun Owner Supplement to support you as you exercise this right.
Likewise, the ownership and use of firearms comes with many responsibilities. Should there be an incident require legal assistance, your Gun Owner Supplement is there to provide consultation when you need it.

Advice and Consultation (Personal): Gun owner rights; Carry and license requirements; Advice on where carrying your concealed firearm is allowed; Advice on where carrying your firearm is openly allowed; Recent changes in gun laws
Emergency Access for a Firearm Incident: 24/7 toll-free access to a provider lawyer for consultation in the event of a covered firearm incident
Trial Defense for Gun Related Matters: Defense of covered civil and criminal lawsuits filed in state or federal court; 60 total hours for covered lawsuits (20 hours pre-trial and 40 hours trial/plan year)
NFA Gun Trust Services: One (1) NFA Gun Trust prepared by your provider law firm per membership year for a flat fee of $250
25% Discount: Discount for provider lawyer’s standard hourly rate for additional trial defense services and/or grand jury investigations, related to a covered firearm incident

Trial Defense Supplement
The benefits offered through the Trial Defense Supplement enhances the trial defense services you already receive through the LegalShield Legal Plan. The supplement provides the following additional hours for legal defense each year.
- Research Time: an additional 5 hours
- Pre-Trial Time: an additional 25 hours
- Trial Time: an additional 75 hours
Here is an example of how the standard LegalShield Legal Plan allocation of hours is enhanced with the addition of the Trial Defense Supplement.
