1. 10-day waiting period after the effective date of enrollment. Coverage begins on the 11th day.
2. Any issues "in process" when coverage becomes effective are considered pre-existing and are not eligible under the plan.
3. No CDLP options are available in AK and MA.
4. The Super CDLP option is only available in 27 states.

Who is Covered Under the Basic Commercial Drivers Legal Plan

When you enroll in a Basic Commercial Drivers Legal Plan, the member and their spouse is eligible to be covered under the plan.

What Driver Benefits are Included with Your Basic CDLP Membership

Here are some of the benefits you receive for yourself and your spouse.

• Tragic Accident Representation: If you or your spouse is charged with a criminal act because of a serious traffic accident, a Commercial Drivers Legal Plan attorney will defend you in the court of original jurisdiction for the following charges:
  • Manslaughter
  • Involuntary manslaughter
  • Vehicular homicide
  • Negligent homicide
• License Reinstatement includes 2.5 hours of legal help for the following situations.
  
  • You are denied a driver’s license.
  • Your driver’s license is cancelled, suspended, or revoked by
    the Department of Public Safety or Department of Motor
    Vehicles where a right to appeal is provided to you by statute.
  • Assistance is needed to reinstate or maintain a driver’s license
    because of job-related or medical reasons.
• Moving Violations: Defense of non-criminal moving violations in the court of original jurisdiction.
• DOT and Non-Moving Violations: You and your spouse are entitled to defense of non-criminal citations issued in your motor vehicle including the following.

• Property Damage Collection for claims of $2,000 or less.
• Personal Injury Collection for claims of $2,000 or less.
• CSA Consultation: Consult with the Provider Attorney about any points assessed against your record by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
• All Other Transportation Related Legal Work at a 25% discount off standard hourly rates.

Super Commercial Drivers Legal Plan

Who is Covered Under the Super Commercial Drivers Legal Plan

When you enroll in a Super Commercial Drivers Legal Plan, the member and the following types of dependents are eligible for coverage under the plan.

• Member's spouse.
• Any unmarried dependent children of the Member or the Member's spouse under 21 years of age who are permanent residents of the Named Member's household.
• Any child under 18 years of age for whom the Member or the Member's spouse is the legal guardian.
• Any unmarried dependent children of the Member or the Member's spouse under 23 years of age who are full-time students.
• Any dependent child, regardless of age, who is incapable of sustaining employment by reason of mental or physical disability and is chiefly dependent upon the Member or the Member's spouse for support.

(The term dependent for the purpose of this plan is defined as the natural or adopted child of the Member or the Member's spouse.)

What Benefits are Included with Your Super CDLP Membership

DRIVER BENEFITS

• Tragic Accident Representation: Same as coverage under the Basic CDLP.
• License Reinstatement: Same as coverage under the Basic CDLP.
• Moving Violations: Same as coverage under the Basic CDLP.
• DOT and Non-Moving Violations: You and your spouse are entitled to defense of non-criminal citations issued in your motor vehicle including the following.

• Property Damage Collection: Receive up to 2.5 hours of legal assistance per situation.
• Personal Injury Collection: Receive up to 2.5 hours of legal assistance per situation.
• CSA Consultation: Consult with the Provider Attorney about any points assessed against your record by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).

FAMILY BENEFITS

• IRS Audit Legal Services: You’ll receive up to 50 hours of professional services from your Provider Law Firm at no additional cost if you or your spouse receives written notice of an IRS audit of a personal tax return, or if you’re requested in writing to appear
  at the IRS offices concerning your tax return.
• Will Preparation: As a member you can have your Will prepared at no additional charge by your Provider Law Firm. PLUS, get yearly reviews and updates at no added charge! Additionally, your spouse may have a will prepared for $50.
• Moving Violation Representation: Your Provider Law Firm will assist you, your spouse, and all covered family members with moving traffic violations in your personal vehicle.
• Uncontested Divorce Assistance: Uncontested divorce assistance is available for you and your spouse after your first year of membership.
• Preferred Member Discount: Any other legal services not otherwise covered by the membership are available at a 25% discount from the Provider Law Firm’s standard hourly rate. A $50 handling fee is required for each separate legal matter.
